I am both a parent of past students at the school and a member of staff so I can give the perspective of both groups. My eldest son has High Functioning Autism and my youngest son has ADHD and anxiety issues so therefore I have personal experience of the problems faced by students with SEND needs. I have lived in Boston since 2013 with my wife and three children and I am keen to play an active role in the education of students in Boston.

For over 27 years I have worked in the Food Manufacturing Industry and most recently was Operations Controller at what was formerly Freshtime and now Greencore Boston. I have in this role been supportive of BHS Year 10’s placements in industry, welcoming them to the site and discussing the merits of the Food Industry as a whole, and the career opportunities it holds. I have also managed over 600 employees, chaired employee forum meetings and managed budgets of up to £1million. Since October 2021, I have changed my career path, and now work for the University of Lincoln as a Senior Lecturer at NCFM, Holbeach and am responsible for the degree apprenticeships in Engineering. This change has meant I am now gaining familiarity with the world of academia, the options available to the st

I live and work in the Borough of Boston. I am a family man and have been married to my wife for twenty years, together we have one son. As a parent and a Governor, I fully understand that every child is unique and different, so one box certainly doesn’t fit all. School quite rightly plays a very important part in a child’s own individual journey, so whilst I am a governor at BHS, I will continue to support, monitor, guide and challenge our senior leadership team to provide the best possible education we can. This is needed in order to support and drive, in equal measure, every student at Boston High School as far as their talents and desire allows, regardless of their abilities and requirements.

I was Chairperson of a kids club (5 – 11 year) for 5 years. I believe that as a representative of the staff it is my role to present the views of the staff reasonably and faithfully. As I go around the school I hope that staff feel they are able to talk to me to make their views and opinions known and I will ensure that I report back to staff the likely effect of any proposal on staff and pupils. I also believe that it essential to assist the headmaster to give regular and robust information to broaden governors understanding of the curriculum and to ensure governors are aware of staff and pupils achievements.

Born in Boston, I have only lived elsewhere to attend University, gaining a B.Ed degree and spending a few years teaching in East London. I have a long history with the school, I am an ex-pupil, as was my Grandmother and Aunt. My daughters attended from Y7 to Y13, and my son for Sixth Form. I have taught in local Primary Schools, and held the position of Children’s Work Coordinator at Boston Stump, both have given me experiences into the needs of young people. It is an honour, and rewarding to serve our school community as a governor, and support the school to provide the best possible school experience for all our students.

I have lived in Lincolnshire for over 20 years and taught at both further education level and within two grammar school settings. I am married to a teacher in a local school and we have two sons, both now at University. I am passionate about education, and this coupled with my role as Head of Department at Boston High School, I am keen to support both colleagues and students to develop Boston High School further. I have a range of valuable skills I bring to my role, gained both from teaching Business Studies and previous employment in HR and Finance. During my time at BHS, I have made good relationships with both support staff and teaching staff and feel that through our regular conversations, I have a good understanding of the challenges we all face and overcome on a day to day basis.
